About LingoKeep
LingoKeep exists because watching YouTube in your target language is the best input there is — and also the easiest to forget. You understand a sentence in the moment, feel great about it, and a week later the word that carried it is gone. The missing piece isn't more input; it's a loop that brings the words you met back to you before they fade.
So that's what LingoKeep is: dual subtitles and sentence-by-sentence listening on top of YouTube, a dictionary one click away, one more click to turn a word into a card — and a spaced-repetition review queue (FSRS) that stays free, on the site or on your phone. Watch. Understand. Keep.
Who is behind it
LingoKeep is built and operated by Jun Zhang, an independent software developer and language learner — one person, no company layers. The same person who writes the code answers support@lingokeep.com, reads every piece of feedback, and ships the fixes. The legal and data-protection details live in the privacy policy.
What we believe
- Comprehensible input works, but only the part you keep. Reviewing what you met is not optional — which is why the review loop is free, not a paywall.
- Your watching is your business: LingoKeep doesn't track what you watch — only the cards you explicitly save are stored, and only when you sign in.
- Tools should earn their keep quietly. No streaks, no guilt mechanics — just the words you chose, back when they're about to slip.
