Which languages does LingoKeep support?

Spanish, Japanese, French and German, with the interface in English. Each one ships a real dictionary — over 100,000 entries for Spanish, French and German, more than 200,000 for Japanese — plus the inflected forms that let a conjugated word find its dictionary entry. Japanese also gets proper word segmentation and readings, because you can't click a word in a sentence with no spaces without it. More languages will follow based on demand.

Is spaced-repetition review really free?

Yes, permanently. FSRS review, dual subtitles, the dictionary, the word list, and sync are all part of the free plan. Review is the core of the learning loop, so putting it behind a paywall would defeat the point of the product.

Why does the free plan cap the deck at 100 cards?

Accepted Answer

Storing and syncing cards costs us money, and 100 cards is enough to build a real review habit and see whether LingoKeep works for you. If you're saving more than that, you're getting real value from it — that's what Pro ($4.99/mo, $39/yr, or a one-time $79 lifetime purchase) is for.

Does it work with auto-generated subtitles?

Yes. LingoKeep works with regular and auto-generated YouTube subtitle tracks. Auto-generated subtitles are less accurate than human-made ones — especially for fast or noisy speech — so dictionary lookups on them can occasionally miss.

Can I export my cards to Anki?

Yes — Anki export is a Pro perk, two ways: one-click AnkiConnect push from the extension, or a CSV download from your Cards page. Either way you get the word, sentence, translation, glosses, and a link back to the video moment, so your deck is never locked in. See the /docs/anki guide.

Do I need an account to try it?

Accepted Answer

No. The extension works signed out: dual subtitles, the dictionary, the word list, saving cards, browsing your deck and doing a review session all run on your own machine. An account is what makes your deck follow you to another browser and to your phone — it isn't what unlocks the product. Sign in later and the cards you already saved come with you.

What exactly does the lifetime plan include?

One payment, and the Pro feature set — unlimited cards, Anki export, everything Pro gains over time — is yours for as long as LingoKeep runs. Nothing ever renews. Two fine-print points, stated plainly: features that cost us money per use (cloud subtitle translation today, AI explanations when they ship) carry a generous fair-use allowance sized so a real learner never meets it, and genuinely new products we build later may be separate add-ons rather than automatic additions to every existing plan.

Does it work on Netflix?

Not yet. We're focused on doing YouTube really well first — it's free, has endless content in every language, and lets us link every flashcard back to the exact second of the video. Netflix support is on the radar for later.

Question 9

What data does LingoKeep collect?

Accepted Answer

Your account email and the cards you explicitly save — that's it. We don't track your browsing or watch history. The extension's permissions are limited to youtube.com and lingokeep.com, and you can delete your cards or your account anytime.

What's your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

If Pro isn't working out, ask within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full, no questions asked — monthly, yearly and lifetime alike. Signed in, the Support tab under Settings reaches us with your account attached; otherwise email support@lingokeep.com. Later renewals aren't automatically refundable, but you can cancel any time from your account page and keep Pro to the end of the period you've paid for, and we'll email you before an annual renewal so it never arrives as a surprise. If one does anyway, write to us — we'd far rather sort it out directly than see it come back as a bank dispute.
